I’ll take any excuse to go shopping! Valentine’s Day is a few days away, and I decided to attend my first ever Markets for Makers pop-up – Valentine’s edition.
Markets for Makers is a carefully curated market, only allowing unique makers to participate. The Market is held at the Moore building every year [from my understanding] and has over 50+ makers which include:
- Bailey’s (tasty Valentines inspired treats)
- The Wanderlust Bazaar (I got the cutest pleaded pants from them)
- Badass Mom Wine (non-alcoholic wine, I got the rosé)
- Earth Sense (they have wearable candles)
Tickets are inexpensive, general admin costs $7, while VIP cost $20. General admin gets you- a black tote, free bailey’s treat, free DIY bracelet, and re-entry for the weekend. VIP gets you entry into the market an hour before general admin, VIP discounts, special edition upgraded tote, and drink ticket to the bar.
There are four floors [whew] and all the makers were fantastic, friendly and welcoming. In my opinion, makers on the fourth floor didn’t receive as much foot traffic as the other floors because that’s four flights of stairs and who wants to do that? On top of that the makers were having trouble when it came to payment (maybe because of the wifi connection?), but if you’re looking to shop small/local, I recommend visiting Markets for Makers, especially since they have the cutest photo walls and DIY projects.
Thanks for getting this far!
