Since my trip to DC my schedule has been hectic.
I had the opportunity to dine at Balloo last Friday; the small and intimate restaurant is created by chef Timon Ballo of Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill.
First, the restaurant is located in a place you’d never guess, inside the Ingraham Building in Downtown Miami, second, there is 21 seats available with seven tables, third, the food is absolutely AMAZING!
The menu ranges from small, medium, large, and sides
For starters, we enjoyed the roasted carrot and pickled curry cauliflower, and the garahm masala crispy potato
*my favorite was the garahm masala crispy potato
For entree, we indulged in the roasted curry calabaza, burnt cabbage, bacon & egg fried rice (vegetarian). The roasted curry calabaza was the center of attention for the night.
We went on to order the Singaporean style dry shrimp & crab tteok bokki and the Thai curry snapper with a side of creamy coconut lime rice
Paired with a bottle of Sancerre
I definitely recommend Balloo for those looking to indulge in a home-cooked meal in an intimate setting.
Balloo is located 19 SE 2nd Ave, Suite 4
